LingoTide is a subscription service for learning a language by listening to short, level-graded audio episodes with an interactive, synchronised transcript and grammar notes. These Terms are a contract between you and LingoTide (“LingoTide”, “we”, “us”), which is operated from the United Kingdom. By creating an account or subscribing, you agree to them.
We may add, change, or remove features as the product develops. If we make a change that materially reduces what you get, we will give reasonable notice.
You sign in through our authentication provider. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for activity under your account. You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and at least 16 (the age we design for).
One person per account; please do not share your login.
LingoTide is one simple subscription: a single recurring plan that unlocks the full library. A free sample of each language is available without a subscription. Payments are processed by our payment provider; we never see or store your card details. The price ($12/month) is shown at checkout before you pay.
Your subscription renews automatically each billing period until you cancel. We will tell you in advance of any price change.
You can cancel anytime from your account. Your subscription is then set to end at the close of the period you have already paid for, and you keep full access until then. There is no cancellation fee.
14-day cooling-off right. If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of first subscribing for a refund. Because the service gives you immediate access to digital content, by subscribing you ask us to start straight away and accept that a refund for the cooling-off period may be reduced in proportion to what you have already used, in line with England & Wales consumer law. The episodes, transcripts, audio, grammar notes, and software are ours (or our licensors’) and protected by intellectual-property law. Your subscription is a personal, non-transferable licence to use them for your own learning.
The learning data you create - the words and phrases you save, the words you mark as known, and your progress - belongs to you. How we handle it is described in our Privacy & Data Policy.
Our episodes and notes are produced with the help of AI and reviewed for teaching quality. Language-learning material can still contain mistakes or simplifications; we do not warrant that every sentence, translation, or grammar note is perfect, and you should not rely on it as professional translation or advice.
The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud). Where our liability is capped, it is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and in any case is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
We may update these Terms as the product develops. If a change is material, we will give reasonable notice (for example, by email or in the app). Continuing to use LingoTide after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and disputes are subject to its courts, except where mandatory consumer law where you live gives you other rights.
